Nothing stirs childhood memories quicker than the sight and sound of the old-fashioned carousel turning merrily on its foundations with the laughter of the children riding. The brightly colored amusement was once located in Mooney Grove in Visalia. When purchased several years ago and moved to its present location, the carousel was in desparate need of extensive refurbishing to return it to original attractiveness and working order. Several fund raising events were held under the direction of the Hanford Chamber of Commerce Carousel Committee. Each year since, there have been annual events to the same purpose as maintenence is a continuing need.
