| In the past year Hanford has had thousands of students tour and visit our Historic city. We believe Hanford is a great place to take a field trip or take a class outing for the day. Children enjoy taking Amtrak. The short walk to Civic Center Park from the Amtrak is a lot of fun for all class sizes. While at the park, children can have their picnic lunch and relax in the scenic atmosphere. If you like, we can arrange lunch for your group at local restaurants at a group rate (hot dogs, sandwiches, etc.). You must try to have an ice cream at Superior Dairy. Please call them to pre-scoop for large groups (559-582-0481). This is a fabulous opportunity for your class to have a great time and yet have a learning experience in one of Central California's most unique historic surroundings. I order to avoid any scheduling conflicts, please notify the Hanford Visitor Agency as soon as possible with the date of your field trip at 559-582-5024.
