One of the true
jewels of our city is the Hanford carousel. This 1932 Allan Herschell masterpiece is located in Civic Center Park on the corner of 8th and Irwin
streets. Recently renovated, the Hanford carousel will give rides to thousands
of children this year. The fun isn’t just for the kids though; young or old, a
ride on the Hanford carousel will take you back to a time when life was simple
and fun was innocent.
The Hanford
carousel was moved from Visalia’s Mooney Grove Park in the mid 1980’s. Since
then, the residents of Hanford have taken great care investing their time and
resources in restoring it to the fantastic condition it is in today.
